The Brundibar

Digital Opera Project

Would you like to create and perform in an opera?

With After Eden’s Brundibar Digital Opera project, you can!

Using this project, you can become an opera singer, an actor, a set designer, a prop and costume maker, a puppet maker, a puppeteer, and even a film maker.

Brundibar is a special opera, written for children and performed during World War Two in the Terezin concentration camp.

With our project you can discover the fascinating history of Brundibar, and learn about why this opera is still important today. As well as create, perform and film your own version of the opera.

All you need is our skills videos, the supporting materials and the resource pack for teachers and parents.

How To Use This Project

The Brundibar Digital Opera Project is intended for use by children ages 7-11.

The content of the project is delivered through our series of videos, which cover everything from the story of Brundibar, to World War Two history, to learning about singing, acting and designing for an opera. These videos are subtitled for accessibility.

The project also contains materials documents for children to use, as well as resources for teachers and adults to use with children. The materials and resources for each video are available to download under their respective videos.

The Brundibar Digital Opera Project was created by the After Eden Arts Foundation to be flexible with the needs of both children and teachers during the pandemic and beyond. The project can be done in a school classroom, or via remote learning.
